Funkwerk Systems GmbH has received national certification for its MESA® 26 train radio system in Poland. ‘We are proud of this achievement and would like to thank our partners for their support,’ said managing director Uwe Lehmann. Analogue train radio is still widespread in Poland. However, a significant portion of the rail network is to be upgraded to the European GSM-R wireless communications standard by 2025. This will affect more than 13,000 kilometres of track. Now that it has been granted certification for Poland, Funkwerk can take part in related tender processes and deploy its cutting-edge, flexible and widely certified MESA® 26 unit to assist its Polish customers with migrating to the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS).
