Johann Schmid-Davis, CFO of HÖRMANN Industries GmbH: "In the first quarter, the positive development that we have seen since September 2022 continued. The broad positioning of HÖRMANN Industries GmbH with four divisions is and remains our stable foundation, which allows us to look to the future with optimism even in a challenging market environment with high inflation and supply chain disruptions. We are also pressing ahead with the realignment of the HÖRMANN Group in order to sustainably and continuously increase our profitability."

Positive business development in all four divisions; Automotive with a jump in sales of almost 50%

In the Automotive division, sales increased by 49.5% year-on-year from € 80.0 million to € 119.6 million, in particular due to the aforementioned production interruptions in the same period of the previous year. The Communication division also made a good start to the new 2023 financial year and, with sales of € 33.2 million (previous year: € 35.0 million), was largely on a par with the previous year and within budget. The Intralogistics division, which was heavily impacted by supply bottlenecks and market uncertainties in the previous year, recorded an increase in sales to € 12.4 million in the first quarter of 2023 (previous year: € 6.9 million, as-ob). In the new division founded in May 2022, the focus in the 2023 financial year will be on a further increase in incoming orders and the successful realization of multi-year project orders to shape the division's planned dynamic growth over the coming years. With sales revenue of € 6.9 million (previous year: € 5.1 million), the Engineering division also outperformed the same quarter of the previous year.

The HÖRMANN Group's order backlog also developed very positively, increasing by € 93.8 million to € 555.1 million in the first quarter of 2023 compared to December 31, 2022 (€ 461.3 million). Of this, € 200.2 million is attributable to the Communication division, € 133.7 million to the Intralogistics division, € 168.4 million to the Automotive division and € 52.7 million to the Engineering division. This means that the project-oriented Communication, Intralogistics and Engineering divisions have an order backlog of more than one year's sales. In the Automotive division, the existing multi-year framework agreements with OEM customers will only be included in the order backlog with the announced call-off orders of ten weeks on average.

Forecast for 2023 as a whole confirmed

The HÖRMANN Group forecasts earnings before interest and taxes (operating EBIT) to be slightly above the previous year's level at between € 23 million and € 25 million (2022: € 23.7 million).
