Who or what is BIM? BIM stands for building information modelling. It includes digital data models and can be used to facilitate processes such as planning, construction and operation. That is a key part of the digital transformation, not only for buildings but also for production facilities.

HÖRMANN Rawema has worked alongside Fraunhofer IGCV and other partners such as AGCO GmbH, Bauer AG and Wieland-Werke to launch an initiative focusing on digitalising structures to enable the use of building information modelling in existing production environments. ‘We intend to compare notes, investigate the current state of the art and gain some insight into how things are likely to unfold in the future,’ explained innovation manager Benjamin Bielefeld from HÖRMANN Rawema. ‘After all, digitalised information is going to become more and more important for our customers.’
