New milestone in logistics
The new facility will automate essential material flows in the area of storage and order picking and prepare for future requirements. The main focus is on the efficient supply of large industrial companies in the Bavarian chemical triangle as well as specialized, supra-regional plant, apparatus and pipeline manufacturers.
The AutoStore system comprises 10,230 containers with a height of 220 mm and is served by four "Red Line" robots with five loading stations. Two conveyor ports ensure the connection to incoming goods, outgoing goods and picking. A conveyor frame allows for potential future expansion. The system is controlled via the HiLIS warehouse management system from HÖRMANN Intralogistics. Other components of the project include a cleaning station for the AutoStore robots and extinguishing generators for fire protection. The integration of the container infeed is also part of the scope of delivery.
Hans-Jörg Behensky, Managing Partner of IPS GmbH & Co. KG, emphasizes the strategic importance of this investment:
"Since our foundation in 2009, IPS has developed from a traditional trading company in piping technology to a modern C-parts manager, system partner and service provider for connection, sealing and fastening technology as well as occupational safety. With the new AutoStore system, we are creating the conditions to make our warehouse processes significantly more efficient and, in particular, to supply our major chemical and petrochemical customers in "ChemDelta Bavaria" and our customers in specialized plant and equipment construction even faster, more reliably and more comprehensively."
