Project completion at Belchem: Logistics & processes rethought
After around 5 months of intensive collaboration, HÖRMANN Rawema successfully completed two planning projects at @BELCHEM GmbH - with a focus on automation, process integration and layout planning.
Project 1: Logistics and process optimization
- Development of an automation concept for yarn transport
- Conception of automatic storage and transport systems
- Integration of a parallel relocation of textile fibre and cutting units
- Cutting units
- 2D/3D layout planning & special load carriers
- Value stream analysis and identification of further automation potential
- Catalogue of measures with cost and schedule assessment
Project 2: Planning the relocation of the cutting system
- Concept for the relocation of the cutting units incl. conveyor technology

- Planning the workplace design and extraction systems
- Technical analysis for fiber length measurement
- Creation and evaluation of several layout variants
- Detailed catalog of measures with schedule and cost overview
The project shows how important holistic planning is - especially when logistics, automation and production relocation have to be considered in parallel.
